Janice Tucker Rhoda, creator of the ABCs of Violin and the ABCs of Viola, has now turned her attention to the cello. Using the same innovative blend of Suzuki ideas and traditional string pedagogy, Ms. Rhoda has developed an approach which sets a high standard for string methodologies inthe 21st century. The first cello book follows the model set by the ser ies for Viola and the series for Violin. It includes easy to follow diagrams of the instrument, short lyrical warm-up exercises, longer study pieces, a mixture of folk songs, familiar classical melodies and originaltunes by the author, a worksheet and a glossary of the terms used in th e book. The piano accompaniment book has easily playable accompaniments for each of the pieces in Book one. The ABCs of Cello is a cello method that is fun for both children and adults, full of the classical and popular melodies students and teachers know and love.
