This cantata is a colorful tapestry of carols, original seasonal songs, scripture and poetry. The work can be presented as a “musiconly” event or in combination with scripture and/or classic and newly written poetry. The music visits treasured traditional melodies and re-imagines them to represent advent anticipation before the work surrenders to the joy of the incarnation. Festive orchestrations add sparkle and sweep to this inspiring gesture of joy and hope. Well-crafted vocal writing and exciting piano underscoring make the cantata perfectly at home in non-instrumental settings. Celebrate the sights and sounds of this sacred season with this service of music and the spoken word.
