From Liberia comes this spirited and humorous traditional folk song. The lyric speaks of a rooster that announces the sunrise of each new day, with “kokoleoko” imitating “cockadoodledoo.” Traditionally performed as a children's clapping game, its form is call-and-response with easy harmonies and handclaps and includes percussion parts.
