Mark Burrows, creator of Gettin' Down with Mama Goose and Gettin' Down Again with Mama Goose, brings us a musical celebration of the life and work of one of literature's greatest figures – Hans Christian Andersen. For centuries, children and adults have been captivated by Andersen's stories. Tales such as The Princess and the Pea, The Steadfast Tin Soldier, Thumbelina, and The Little Mermaid areas fresh and full of wonder as they were when they were first written. Songwriter Mark Burrows uses everything from reggae to rock 'n' roll, along with his unique and engaging sense of humor to get children excited about music and literacy. Along with the eight original songs, Mark has included several fun activities, and ideas – including poetry as dialogue – for presenting the songs as a revue, fully-staged musical, or even a puppet opera! Grades 1-5.
