This collection is a teacher's gold mine! It's a teaching tool and a mini-musical! African American History: “The Inventors” promises to be the first in a series of musical collections celebrating African American historical figures. Chronicling the lives and achievements of four famous African American inventors, this collection contains songs that may be used individually or together as a mini-musical any time of year. There are learning activities and games for each inventor, and the rhyming narratives that precede each song make memorizing facts abreeze. The songs are short and to the point, with a variety of styles from “Tick-Tock Boogie” to “Shoes Blues”. “Traffic Light” is a '50s style ballad, and you better hold on to your hat for “Ridin' On the Amtrak”. Can you guess the inventions? Don't miss this opportunity for music education in your elementary music room or classroom. Choreography instruction by Greg Gilpin isincluded.
